Sustainable Energy and the Border

I have long thought that a sustainable energy partnership between equatorial countries and their northern neighbors could be a viable means to benefit both.   Invest in solar farms on sub trop land (Mexico for example) which is not ecologically sensitive, culturally important or inhabited.  These solar farms could produce needed energy for inhabited areas such as US SW cities.  Sign a long term contract between producers and consumers.

This would provide jobs in economically underdeveloped places while building and maintaining the solar farms as well as the infrastructure to bring the energy to where it is needed.

With that thought in mind, please check out this innovative idea to solve the border (non) crisis in a constructive fashion.
